Students learn that being a Christian is not merely a profession of faith but involves denying themselves, being accountable for their choices, taking up their crosses, and daily following Jesus (Luke 9:23-25). We help students to see themselves as sinners in need of a Savior (Romans 3:10-12), realize that they can never earn God’s acceptance by living morally (Romans 3:20), respond to God’s love for them in the gospel (Romans 5:8), and grow in a personal relationship with God.
Middle school students can feel awkward, insecure and be particularly vulnerable to peer pressure. CLS provides a supportive environment for young teens to become secure in their personal identity, live at peace with their neighbor, and explore new interests. We encourage students to stir one another up in love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24) to help them discover they are more safe, fulfilled and fruitful in the context of community. We work hard at providing a safe and Christ-centered environment so that students can have a positive middle school experience.
