Admissions Overview - CLC Members

Covenant Life School is a ministry to active members of Covenant Life Church or another local church. Families who are involved in the school must be in agreement with the philosophy, mission, and policies of the school.  Admission to Covenant Life School is an opportunity offered to children who qualify according to the school's Admission Standards.  After the mid-year point, admissions requests are typically deferred to the following school year.  The enrollment procedure is outlined as follows:

Procedure for Students in Grades K-6

1.      Carefully read the Enrollment Information Handbook.

2.      Complete the Application For New Families and return it to the school office.

3.      Send in the Registration Fee of $200 with the Application.  If you are currently enrolled in FSP, the enrollment fee is $100.

4.      Give the Pastoral Questionnaire to your care group leader, and ask him to complete it and turn it in to the school office.  If you are not currently involved in a care group, ask your pastor to complete it.

5.      Arrange for a parent interview with the principal.  Interviews typically are scheduled Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

6.      Complete the necessary health and information enrollment forms.  These will be sent to you by the school office early in the summer.

NOTE: Families who apply late in the summer must realize that their students may not be able to attend if the placement testing identifies the student as needing to enroll in a classroom that is already filled.

Procedure for Students in Grades 7-12

1.      Carefully read the Enrollment Information Handbook.  Print from this website or obtain from the school office the applicable Secondary Student Enrollment Forms. These forms are necessary to complete the application procedure.

2.      Parents and students together should study the enrollment materials and discuss the suitability of the school for the student's education.

3.      Send in to the school office the following:

·        The completed Application For New Families.

·        The Registration Fee of $200.

·        Grade reports from the past two years, including the most current report.  Photocopies are acceptable.*

·        Student essays as outlined in the Secondary Packet.

·        Recommendations from two non-family member adults, one being a teacher during the past two years.

·        All of the aforementioned must be reviewed before the school can determine admissions status.

4.      Give a Pastoral Questionnaire to your care group leader, and ask him to complete it and turn it in to the school office.  If you are not currently involved in a care group, ask your pastor to complete it.

5.      Once the application has been reviewed, eligible students and their custodial parents or guardians will be invited to attend an interview at the school.  Interviews typically take place Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

6.      The student and his or her parents will be notified via mail or phone as to eligibility for enrollment.

7.      Complete the necessary health and information enrollment forms.  These will be sent to you by the school office early in the summer.

Families who are pursuing membership in Covenant Life Church but have not yet completed the process are eligible to apply for admission to the school no later than July 1.  This means that the custodial parent(s) or guardian (s) are participating in the church’s Sunday worship and are enrolled in the membership class – Starting Point. Eligibility for continued enrollment is contingent upon completing the membership procedure of Covenant Life Church and becoming a member in good standing.

Note: If the student is transferring from the Family Schools Program (FSP) into grade 10 or above, the student's home school credits must be verified by one of the FSP High School for Credit Reviewers.  This will require an additional fee.
